There will be many who will use this time of year to reflect on their year whilst they're trying to move forward into the New Year. Where I have clarity and understanding about my life, I still need to convince myself on both. Those fleeting thoughts tend to come and go.

My thoughts go to me when I was small, school and opportunities missed to help me because of my physical and mental difficulties and I'm struggling to move on. Although my children are fulfilling their own dreams of furthering their education through university and travel, their opportunities reinforce my own struggles.

The silver lining is that since those days, I have achieved so much more and that if I had have gone down the mainstream education path, I probably wouldn’t be running my own website now. My life has moved on in other ways.

An opportunity arose that allowed me to get myself to this place, and that has paid off. Now I must continue to work on myself.

  1. This year has been a struggle for me and I'm glad to see it go.

I'm starting the new year as an ex-smoker, I have an adoption to look forward to and I have my family. I have accomplished more in my life than anyone would have ever thought possible.

I'm looking forward to the New Year and new things to come. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

  2. 2011 was in many ways a learning year for me.

I learned more about what I want and what I don't want out of my life. Looking forward to 2012 in order to meet new people and continue with the people who mean a lot to me like Ilana.

    1. You're very welcome. You mean a lot to me too.

Without support from you and many like you, who post and read my blogs, the site wouldn't be the success it is. You all make it the success it is. Thank you.

      See you in 2012.

  3. Dear Ilana, I love this post of yours! I'm so happy for you.

You have such a beautiful attitude, full of optimism and an outlook that is so amazing and healthy, it exudes warmth and positivity. Thank you for sharing all this.

Your site really helps me and so many others. I think you are a wonderful person and I'm glad you have found all the success that you have found. Thanks for always being such a good friend too!

I'm looking forward to welcoming the new year in too. I would be very pleased with my life if someday I was writing a blog like you. I know you have so much wisdom and strength and that did come out of your own experiences.

I'm just hoping my own experiences shape me into someone stronger, just like you. Love ya! Kate. 🙂

    1. Thank you for the lovely compliment Kate. I'm really not sure what to say now, which is so unlike me! I am humbled.
