Something inspirational:

“Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.”

  1. For me, this quotation is important not only in relationships, but in life as well. Powerful quotation, word for word.

    1. I absolutely agree with you Tim. I think we should all live with integrity in our lives. I know our lives would be a lot richer for it.

    1. Absolutely Randy. It's actually worth trying to achieve part or all of these attributes.

They make a difference in the way we choose to live and deal with our lives.

  2. This isn't something I have a lot of experience with since I have made so many decisions in my life based on another person's needs! It has caused me to feel like I'm headed to become a bitter old man which is something I definitely don't want.

Now I have to make hard choices to finally do what I want to in my life even if others don't agree with my decisions.

I'm sure it will be a very painful process but I know it needs to be done!

    1. I'm sure you can do it Randy. Change is hard of course, but well worth the effort when we've managed to achieve it.

  3. In an ideal world these sentiments are laudable, but they do give us objectives in our personal and work relationships to aim for, but they are rarely achieved. We'd soon be unemployed/unemployable and without friends and family if we stuck rigidly to this.

At best, what some of us manage to achieve is a compromise, whereby we try to put these principles first while taking other peoples feelings and the situations we find ourselves in, into account too.

    1. Whilst I understand your point and this isn't easy, these principles are how we should be living our lives. If we all lived by these principles, no one would fall out! We'd have more compassion and more understanding of what others go through. We'd also have more patience for other people and would behave differently with them. We'd also have more peace in our own lives.

Unfortunately as a nation we tend to get engrossed in our own stressful lives and often fail to see how we behave with others.
