Something inspirational:
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”
JOHN LENNON
Out of the mouths of babes!
It is a shame we lose sight of philosophies like this as we get older. We would all do well to take a page out of John's school book.
Instead we get caught up in another John Lennon quote most of the time 'Life is what happens when your busy making other plans.'

I love this quote because it's completely true. It's how children view the world with all of their innocence and intuition on life. We tend to lose it as we age.
I love your response and agree with you.
What a great story and a lovely lesson.
I like Stuart's other quote from John Lennon about life too.
I do too. I like the fact that our life is made up of lessons, because those lessons should make us into better individuals and that is important if we are to make headway.
What an absolutely beautiful quote. If only it were that easy. Sometimes just being happy is not enough in this world.
I love this! Simplicity of life of reveals true bliss.
I do too for the same reasons.
Happiness would be a great thing in my life as I haven't exactly experienced a lot of it in my life.
I'm hoping and praying that possibly one day I could truly be happy. It would be such a great thing.
Happiness is difficult for all of us Randy. I was far from happy as a child.
I do believe though, that your spiritual beliefs will give you the capacity to achieve the happiness that you're looking for.
My beliefs bring about calm for me in my not so calm world. I am sure in time yours will do the same for you.
I think John always had lovely sayings and this one is awesome and so true of a lot of people.
Ditto. I agree. Unfortunately many of us don't always understand the concept of being happy.
We try and accomplish great things, materialistic things in the hope that all of those things will make us happy, but being happy is a state of mind that comes from within us, regardless of our achievements.
John's quote will resonate with many children about how they want to be when they grow up. I think that if we're happy children we will have more success and a chance to be happy adults too.
