Something inspirational:

"When people get married because they think it's a long-time love affair, they'll be divorced very soon, because all love affairs end in disappointment. But marriage is a recognition of a spiritual identity."

  1. Yes, I learned that lesson the hard way with my marriage, because we didn't really know each other very well before we did got married.

There's a big difference between the fantasy and the reality of being married, once you actually go through with it. What happens after the honeymoon is usually very disappointing to people when they realize the person who they married isn't the person they believed them to be.

Most people are on their best behavior in the beginning, but it usually doesn't take very long for the truth to come out, as it did for me.

The reason we got married is because my girlfriend was pregnant and I was trying to do the right thing, but it wasn't enough to keep us married for very long and turned out to be the wrong thing.

    1. Yes, there are many reasons why marriages fail, but I've heard the main reason is because unconsciously people go in thinking there's always a way out, that marriage isn't for keeps.

Then there's the different backgrounds issues that keep people separate. I also know someone who married 'to do the right thing' but it didn't work out. But it's the emotional and spiritual part of a relationship that is the difference between a marriage lasting and a marriage in trouble. This quote is absolutely spot on.

The honeymoon period seems to go quite quickly, then reality bites and family interference sometimes takes precedence. But if more couples were in tune with each other spiritually, couples are more likely to stay together.

Where love is embedded around a spiritual framework, it becomes a framework that gives meaning to marriage.
