  1. This quote is a little blunt but absolutely true. We need to be true to ourselves to be happy and the key to that happiness is not caring what anyone else thinks of us, but what we think of ourselves.

The days of me feeling the need to impress my worthiness on others, thankfully are well and truly behind me.

    1. Thanks. Yes, this is absolutely true for many of us I'm sure, but particularly for me around my disability and my life.

We can still be true to ourselves and care about others, but they have to care about us. Where others fail to care about us, it becomes even more important for us to be true to ourselves.

  2. I believe I have been rewarded on many levels by doing what I think is best for me. I have to feel good about my decisions at the end of the day.

Unfortunately, doing the right thing for myself in this dog-eat-dog world doesn't always bring praise.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, you're right. Both praise and respect are often overlooked.

That said, it is important we do what is best for ourselves. In this dog-eat-dog world it has become even more important. Not everyone chooses to recognise what we do. I think that's the problem.
