  1. It won't do any good to just complain about something we don't like in our life; we need to get the courage to do something about it even though it scares us.

    1. Thanks Maria. I couldn't agree more. If something we do that we've always done works then that's fine, but we will often do things that don't always work, but rather than bring about change, we just put up with it.

We can't expect our lives to change for the better when we insist on always doing things the same way. On the contrary we grow through change, by trying new things.

  2. If we just do what we're comfortable with because that is what we're used to, then we really can't expect to learn and grow, which is what life is really about.

It's easy to stay where we are and not stray outside of our comfort zones but as the quote says that is a self perpetuating situation and I don't believe it actually does us any good.

I used to work with someone who kept saying, 'I know what I like and I like what I know' and that's kind of the same thing as this quote. To me it's is a life of missed opportunity for enlightenment.

    1. You're right, it is a life of missed opportunity; I couldn't agree more, but what drives it initially is fear and insecurity.

The sad reality is that we're far more capable than we become. We hold ourselves back because we're too scared to take the plunge, 'we know what we know.' Right?

  3. It sounds a lot like the Albert Einstein quote, 'Insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.'

I have spent the majority of my life making the same mistakes and then wondering why things always turned out the same way. My friend likes to say to me, 'you don't just get stuck in a rut, you like to move in and furnish it.'

The reality is that until a person does something to change, they will continuously get stuck in that loop. I've wasted far too much time in my life doing just that.

I would like to do things differently in the time I have left!

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, unless we understand our actions on a conscious level, we won't always know what we need to change.

I believe that's the problem the majority of us have. We don't stop to question or understand; get stuck and then change nothing.

  4. I think what he's trying to say here is that if something bugs us, we have to change our situation. There are people who always do the same thing but expect a different outcome.

We have to change our tactics if we want a different outcome, otherwise there will be no difference in direction.
