I have never really experienced much of a peaceful life, so it's very foreign to me. I've dealt with chaos most of my life so I have trouble when things are too quiet.
I'm definitely not saying that I'm going to go out chasing the chaos, but just the fact that there are times when I do miss it even though it could make my life a living Hell!
I'm just trying to figure out a happy medium at this point so I can actually have a peaceful life and be able to be comfortable with it!
Yes chaos can have that effect on us. We tend to follow patterns that we're familiar with even though we're not completely comfortable or happy with those patterns. It's what we know.
The hard part is moving away from those patterns to something a little more quiet. Like you Randy, my life has been far from quiet, but there was never a time where I didn't strive to bring quiet into my life.
Either seems scary of course, because it's a fear of the unknown, but I know for myself, I would much rather learn to live with peace in my life than live with chaos.
As this quote outlines and there is a message in there for all of us I'm sure, when we're at peace within ourselves, we're at peace with others too. That's what we should all be striving for.
Thanks Tim. To be able to live and control how we are with others when we're not always at peace with ourselves isn't easy to do and you seem fine with that. I'm so pleased you know how to do it.
The key to anything is finding peace within ourselves first. As you point out in your response, your peace levels depend on what life throws at you. Generally speaking, if we're struggling with an issue or problem we cannot solve, we're less likely to be at peace within ourselves.
My spiritual beliefs and my understanding of the universe and how life works has helped me find peace within myself. My beliefs have helped me understand my life to this point and that's brought about a lot of my peace.
Now when I have something to deal with, I think about why something should happen, then find ways to deal with it based on what I believe, whilst still being able to maintain a level of peace within myself.
At the end of the day we all have to find what works for us.

I think this is so true. We have to have peace with ourselves to do almost anything, especially to be peaceful with others.
Thanks Lisa. I agree with you.
I agree; this is so true. My definition of happiness is peace.
My definition of happiness is peace too and the little things.
I can live at peace with others, but I'm not at peace within myself all the time. My peace level depends on what life throws at me.
