Ilana Estelle is a mental health and wellbeing advocate who combines educational insight with her personal experience of living with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities.
She holds diplomas in Counselling, Diet and Nutrition, Nutritional Therapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling, and Stress Management. Through her writing, Ilana supports others in navigating their emotional, mental, and physical health challenges.
In addition to writing for The CP Diary, her work has appeared in healthy lifestyle magazines.

This is absolutely right. Staying in an relationship with someone can make you ill and sometimes the only way to address that is to put distance between you.
This isn't always easy to do, but I really do think it should be a consideration; if others attempts to put things right fail.
Sadly, I think we're already aware, but we turn a blind eye in the hope that the other person will change, or we give them the benefit of the doubt because we want or are desperate for things to work out.
Toxic relationships are just that, toxic... there's no getting away from that. But even if the other person doesn't act or change, it's important we act for the sake of our health.
It's not just between two people sadly, toxic relationships also exist in families. I have seen first hand what happens when someone stays in a toxic relationship and it's not pretty.
