Something inspirational:

“The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one. But it will only grow in the mud. In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud, the obstacles of life and its suffering. The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share, no matter what our stations in life. Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one.”

    1. Thanks Lisa. Yes we have an understanding, we just can't explain it in it's most simplistic terms, without going round the houses to do it.

I'm sure it will come when you're not under pressure to get the meaning out.

  1. Great quote. Me and my family certainly had enough experience of mud, but we have grown because of it.

I never knew Goldie Hawn was such a philosopher!

    1. I agree we grow through our experiences; probably more mud the better!

It just goes to show, when we think we know people, we don't always. I believe there's always a side to people we don't know about or that we rarely get to see.

Yes I agree with you, this is a great quote from a genuinely lovely lady.
