  1. Yes, so very true! You can only hide it for so long, but eventually the truth comes out when you can't hide it any longer.

My world has become full of chaos and despair, I can't pretend I know what I am doing anymore due to my circumstances.

There were so many things that I wasn't taught as a child and am now having to figure it out as an adult at 50 years old. This means asking for help, which is one of the things that I truly hate doing the most.

It only serves to remind me of what I missed out on in life. I'm just trying to do the best I can with the limited skills I have, and needing to work on my own since I am dealing with someone who doesn't appreciate my efforts.

I have truly been crippled inside for such a long time but I need to focus on fixing myself.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, the emotions aren't something we can hide for long and if ignored can cripple us.

I believe we can all change certain aspects of our life. Although we must all be crippled in some way, I still believe we must try to make the effort. We get one crack at the life thing.

I am still working on putting my life in some order with my disability. I am determined not to let my experiences, influence my future in a negative way.

Unconsciously that must have been something I continually carried. Yes, I agree Randy and you're right, it's important we focus on fixing ourselves.

  2. We might think that just because our disability is hidden that no-one can see it - but nothing can be further from the truth.

An emotional disability is just as real and we seem to be increasingly acknowledging how important our mental health is, thankfully.

    1. I am pleased more is being done to help those with mental health issues. Mental health is coming into the public domain even more now.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't struggle with anxiety issues as a child, but through that time I continued to find ways through and I did.

But no child should have to struggle. I still think there are stigmas around things like mental health, but we are making strides there.

Children aren't always confident they will believed and parents won't always admit their parenting may have something to do with mental health issues.
