I read this quote and imagined eavesdropping on a conversation between a father and his son who is about to leave home for the first time. It brought up all sorts of emotions as I didn't have the greatest relationship with my father.
I have heard about this which is a modern day re-telling of the story of Joseph and the Coat of Many Colours. I might look it up and buy it.

And while not all children can change the cards they're dealt in childhood, as parents we can work to change things for our children. We can all do more.
