Something inspirational:

"Let them judge you. Let them misunderstand you. Let them gossip about you. Their opinions aren't your problems. You stay kind, committed to love, and free in your authenticity. No matter what they do or say, don't doubt your worth or the beauty of your truth. Just keeping shining like you do."

  1. My parents always used to make us feel like we were such a burden and that nothing that we could ever do would make them happy so it's no wonder I'm so neurotic.

We also had families on both sides that judged us very harshly because we were considered to be poor white trash, because my dad was French among so many other things.

It's no wonder that it took so long to develop a small sense of my self-worth, to the point where I feel like I can accomplish something in my life, rather than feel like such a waste of space.

I'm not worried so much anymore about what people think of me, seeing as most of the time people aren't even thinking about me and in the end their opinion about me doesn't really matter.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, other people's opinion of you shouldn't matter, it's what you think about yourself that matters.

Let them judge Randy, you get on with your life. Everything we think about stems from our parents' parenting and their parents before them.

All we can do is change us.

  2. It's your life, so let people judge and ignore them. Be open and honest and compassionate and if others can't cope with that, then that is about them.

I remember a great Bob Marley quote, 'Who are you to judge the life I live?' That says it all really.

    1. Thank you. There is nothing more that I need to add, apart from 'Bob Marley' was right. It applies in all walks of life.

  3. What matters is maintaining your integrity and self control. People will always try to snatch your mind away from you.

Just clean off every speck of dirt that's thrown at you and move on.

    I love your response Brad!

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, I love his response also. There is a lesson in Scott's quote for us all. Choose your friends and family wisely.

Sadly, we're too busy worrying about what others think, worried that if we don't conform or fall into line, they will walk away.

The reality of course is that if that is what we have to put up, what is the point to the relationship?

Those that want us to do well, regardless of any past history together, are those we should continue to have in our lives.
