Ilana Estelle is a mental health and wellbeing advocate who combines educational insight with her personal experience of living with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities.
She holds diplomas in Counselling, Diet and Nutrition, Nutritional Therapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling, and Stress Management. Through her writing, Ilana supports others in navigating their emotional, mental, and physical health challenges.
In addition to writing for The CP Diary, her work has appeared in healthy lifestyle magazines.
Ilana is also the author of three books: Cerebral Palsy: A Story – Finding the Calm After the Storm, Spirituality, Healing and Me, and Survival: The Covid Years – Time for Change.

While we weave our way through another Christmas, let's be careful with our pockets, as the spiritual element got lost in this celebration.
My father worked an extra two jobs just for Christmas to make his children happy and I seethe with sadness when I think about it. I can enjoy all the traditional aspects of Christmas, except the commercialization of it.
Thanks Tim. It's hard when we come to think about what our parents do for us. Whilst I can see how sad that can be in the eyes of a child, you know deep down your father wouldn't have had it any other way.
If the shoe were on the other foot we would do the same for our own children in a heart beat. It's what we do. I agree with your sentiment about Christmas. I would love Christmas to be less commercialised and not so much about the presents.
