Learning that I had a disability at the age of 46, but not knowing what my disability was, I was given no choice but to find out. You can't live a life with something and not know what it is.

I write about my experiences on my blog, but it wasn’t the right platform to explore my experiences and my disability in the whole. I needed to write in a self-contained place, where I had the freedom to talk about my disability and how I felt.

Cerebral Palsy 'A Story'

In Cerebral Palsy: ‘A Story’ I write about my disability, in a way that each of us can relate. It is a book of positivity, as I use my experiences to create positive inspiring messages. It is a book that challenges us to think about ourselves and our lives moving forward.

It helps us identify with our experiences on what each of us deal with. It also allows and helps us to make changes moving forward.

Review by Lucille Phillips

Cerebral Palsy: ‘A Story’ – Review by Lucille Phillips “It’s a fantastic reference book for everyone who cares about themselves, their lifestyles and their health.

As Ilana takes her own journey through her experiences, not knowing she had a disability until she was 46, she allows us to journey with her also, helping us to see and understand our own experiences and for us to make our own changes. On finding out about her cerebral palsy, Ilana initially started her blog The CP Diary.

Six years into her blog, she penned her book, Cerebral Palsy: A Story - a book I would totally recommend.”

  1. I would say your book is an ESSENTIAL read not just an inspiring one. Although you initially write about not knowing about your disability in the book, throughout you create inspiring messages about hope, mental and physical health, positivity, and change.

It has something for everyone. I would recommend it to everyone as the main tool in their coping strategy toolbox.

    1. Thank you. I know what my writing, and what my book has done and continues to do for me. It literally is 'my go to book.'

It has changed my outlook, both on my life and my perceptions on how I see my experiences, and it will for others too. Where I struggled to comprehend, I now understand, where once I was despondent, I now live with hope.

You have read my book, so you come from a place of knowing. I am confident others won't be disappointed and they will want to read my book too.
