  1. Yes, this does seem to be my dilemma, since I know I should be doing just that, but I struggle with that part of myself that wonders why I should even bother.

My experience has been that so many people downright refuse to even attempt to help themselves, even after they have had someone speak for them, which is beyond illogical.

I'm sure that is just because I am rather jaded, but I will have to work on getting past that. I know in the end it'll be worth it, even if I only saved one person.

I'm also quite sure it has a lot to do with the negative reinforcement that I received as a child about not helping others, but I'm hoping and praying that I can ignore those voices in my head and finally become a decent human.

    1. Thanks Randy. Don't stop to question your own motives, those are sound, but you'd be right to question those you've struggled with. We only have to open the newspapers or turn on the t.v. to understand why.

But no matter how hard we find it, it is important to give a voice to those who have no voice. To those who can help themselves, it is important they do, and to those who can but choose not to, it is important they help themselves.

The universe will always take a judgment call on people and their circumstances. But I fear the world is lacking empathy, compassion and tolerance and therefore we're helping less and less.

There are exceptions to that, but I feel we can all do better.

  2. When we help others we help ourselves, but many people miss that completely. Perhaps we carry too much residue as a human race.

Giving voice to the voiceless makes me happy inside.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, looking at my own experiences you're right. The human condition is inevitably flawed. We do carry too much residue, which is often why people run.

But unless we unconsciously think about our experiences, we will miss not only an opportunity to better ourselves and turn our own lives around, but will miss out on helping others also.

It is important we understand why we're here and what we can do to help others who clearly struggle more than we do.
