We all need to be the change; we all should want to see change in the world. We should all want to do better; we should all want to be better.
My Spiritual Beliefs
I go to my spiritual beliefs because this is where it all starts. Through our understanding of why our experiences and our lives are meant for us, I believe we can begin to start to think and live different lives.
Thinking differently means paving out a new life
Thinking differently means paving out a new life, understanding and moving away from our past, moving on and living a life with understanding, goodness, empathy and compassion in it and receiving all of that back. Learning to think about and put others first. Appreciating what we have, rather than what we want.
But sacrifices need be made if we are to have a future with less struggle. We all need to want to be part of the change. Learning to appreciate our lives, our experiences and find understanding helps build perspective, a different perspective.
Learning to appreciate nature
Learn to appreciate nature and think about giving back. Nature is beautiful. Nature helps us to stay grounded. With nature, changing yourself is always easy. Through my blog I also show us how.
One of the hardest lessons that I've had to learn is that I can only change myself. I have wasted most of my life waiting for others to change but they don't deviate from the way they are, unless they are willing or see the need to change.
I have also tried hard to change people to be the way that I wanted them to be, with usually disastrous results. My parents were a prime example where I kept waiting for them to change, but they never did, even when it would have made their lives so much better.
Also, current circumstances with the pandemic prove that so many people end up refusing to change even when doing so, would save their own lives. Although it's not all, some are dying believing the virus to either be a hoax, or to prove their point that they are going to live their lives the way that they want to, even if it kills them and everyone else around them.
Once again, the ideal of being what I like to call 'a rebel without a clue' is winning out. Sadly, it takes something like a pandemic to force people to change, and even then they will fight it down to the last soul, before they will do anything about it.
I have also watched this happen time after time in my recovery program. long enough to know that things aren't going to change anytime soon unless people choose to change.
Thanks Randy. Yes, we must all want to change. I think you're right, the pandemic has shown people's true colours, but our colours can change.
I think you're also right, it takes something like a pandemic to force us to change. And where we are guided and need to be protected by politicians they need to do their part.
I know they are very much responsible for the divides and that needs to change, although we must take responsibility and change for ourselves.
Whilst change needs to come from governments, we must be the change we want to see in the world. Very much so.
