I'm on my own, but I don't feel truly alone.
Through my life, I've had to stand by myself,
Maybe one day that can change and I won't be on my own.
Growing up with something you later learn is a disability.
With no discussions, you learn to fend for yourself, be independent.
I was brought into this world to see the indifference around me,
to understand that it exists.
But while we're alive and breathing,
there's always room for change.
Not just for me,
but for others to want to grow and evolve.
Change that allows us to do better,
to be kinder, and to live more thoughtfully,
and to act with compassion.
To include,
to nurture,
to understand, to come together,
to wish to be different, in a good way.
Why? Because we only get one life,
one chance to make a positive difference.
Not to consume or ignore, because that's wrong,
but to be kind, understanding, and helpful.
That’s how we all grow,
not just as individuals, but together.
Each act of compassion,
each moment of listening,
becomes part of the fabric of a more caring world.
In lifting one another, we expand what it means to live fully.
