It is not possible to go through life without knowing what you deal with and not have any trauma attached to not knowing.

And whilst we know there is a link between emotions and ill-health, lifestyle contribute. If we’re never encouraged to express how we feel, we will never talk about those things. It is exactly why The CP Diary exists.

Unless we bring emotions from past experiences into our conscious, those issues will always reside below our level of consciousness. We go through life working on the assumption that if we avoid our issues, they will go away.

But since it's the subconscious that controls our conscious thoughts that changes our outward behaviour, we will continue to live our lives and fail to equate that our past has anything to do with where we are emotionally presently.

Ilana Estelle is a mental health and wellbeing advocate who combines educational insight with her personal experience of living with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. She holds diplomas in Counselling, Diet and Nutrition, Nutritional Therapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling, and Stress Management. Through her writing, Ilana supports others in navigating their emotional, mental, and physical health challenges. In addition to writing for The CP Diary, her work has appeared in healthy lifestyle magazines.   1. It is important that we deal with traumatic experiences, so we don't have to live with the implications around our health.

    1. Unfortunately any traumatic experience can and does have an impact on our health. I agree we must deal with them, if we are to stay well.
