Exercise isn’t just about keeping us fit physically it is also associated with being proactive and us staying mentally positive.

Keeping Fit Equals Staying Positive

Keeping fit through exercise is known to help us stay positive and motivation and positivity are known to help us lead healthier, happier lives. Going to the gym can make you feel strong, motivated and positive in that moment, but that feeling must also replicate into everyday life too.

Exercise and Overcoming Negative Thinking

Exercise is also one of the best ways for us to overcome negative thinking. When we exercise, the body releases endorphins, which leads to positive feelings. Exercising gives us a clear objective to focus on, which helps dissipate other worries and concerns. Be in or out of the gym, it’s important we are mindful about what we think about and what we let in. It’s important that when you hear words that make you feel happy and smile, you hold on to those words.

Conclusion

To finish, when you exercise, you become more positive, which means you're less likely to hold on to negative thoughts – less likely to want to lead negative lives.

  1. There is a well accepted correlation between positivity and exercise.

Exercise increases our level of endorphins, which are natural mood enhancers, it helps us to get a good night's sleep, and reduces immune system chemicals that can make depression worse.

I know a few people who have said they feel depressed if they don't exercise, but I also caution about becoming addicted to exercise as that can be a problem too.

Exercise shouldn't be an aim in its own right, but it is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I agree. That's right. Where you say, 'exercise shouldn't be an aim in its own right, but it is an important part of a healthy lifestyle' - you're right it shouldn't be, but it is.

Too many people get addicted to exercise. As you say it should be part of a healthy lifestyle, not in place of our lifestyle.

  2. Believe it or not, I actually signed up for the YMCA the other day and what a sweet deal at only $19 a month, based on my income.

I haven't always been a very big fan of exercising, but with my excess weight and health issues, it's definitely what I need to work on.

I've also realized just today, how much I like doing things consistently rather than just randomly. I'm sure it has a lot to do with how random my life was as a child seeing as we never really knew what to expect from moment to moment, let alone from day to day.

I'm thinking that it will end up helping a lot with this consistency issue, along with being curious as to what I can do with this body to make it as healthy as it can be.

    1. Thanks Randy. Sounds good. I would be interested to see how that goes.

Yes, when it comes to our health and exercise, we can't ignore it. I feel we must do everything we can to keep ourselves active, well and positive.
