I choose to see the world through a multi coloured lens and appreciate the beauty of all that is complex, unique and individual of the world around me.
I accept that I have non negotiables, however, I have the insight and compassion to consider the differing elements that may influence the thoughts and behaviours of both myself and others.
Individual difference
I appreciate my individual difference and that, at times, I can be challenged with a more black and white outlook and judgement, however, at these times, I remember that I am a Rainbow, because I also have the ability through insight and intuition, to view through a compassionate and multi-coloured lens.
Understanding difference
It is not enough for me to understand my differences, I live with a mental disability; therefore it is for others to understand and work with me. My insight and intuition have become the 'beating heart' that give me access in an able world.
My writing has allowed me to become who I am and I see it as ‘my gift.’
Far too many people only see the world as black or white which doesn't leave a lot of room for grey or any of the other rainbow of colors. You're lucky you understand and that you can work your autism around the 'rainbow.'
I grew up being brainwashed into seeing things only a certain way, so it's no wonder I have had such a difficult time in my life which I'm sure that you can relate to.
Things have been so drastically different over the past couple of years because of looking at things differently but I definitely still have a long way to go before I'm finished.
Thanks Randy. I can relate. Yes, being brainwashed doesn't initiate forward thinking or bring understanding for yourself. It must have been incredibly difficult.
In a way, without realising it, because I was continually being locked away through autism, I had no choice, but to try to understand and navigate my mental disability.
Initially, my world was also black and white, something either worked or it didn't, it was either wrong or it wasn't.
But over the years, opening up a little more and learning to work with my intuition and insight has opened up a whole new world for me.
