What started as a blog to talk about my experiences not knowing I was growing up with a disability or what that looked like has turned in to what I would describe as an 'agony aunt' column.
What is happening in politics
My biggest gripe is what is happening in politics, not just in the UK, but politics in general and what and how the world feels now, not only to me, but to each of us.
Carrying Hope
Before my twin died, and in the pandemic, I had those same feelings, but without her in my life, my world has just got smaller, scarier in fact. Hope, a small word is something I try to live by, but with autism and in a world that is scary, it's getting harder to carry hope. That's not to say hope can't come back, or that something can't or won't change, but in the meantime, I continue to look for the positives, and I also try to live with hope.
The political decisions
I've never been one to shy away from my struggles, my blog is testament to that, but I am also acutely aware of how much harder things have become with the political decisions that are currently being made.
No accountability or redress
I am also accutely aware that no accountability, responsibility and redress from the politicians makes this all the more harder. We all have to be that change. Every vote in the right box is going to count.
Sheila (my twin) was always better at getting the job done. And if she didn't know how to do that, she would research until she found the answers. I write, that's how I find my answers. Intuitively, I continue to follow my gut and things work out.
