How others behave is a reflection of them, not a reflection of you, or your worth. Instead, surround yourself with people who are kind, people who uplift and support you, so you may focus on building your self-esteem.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and kindness

Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, with respect. Kindness matters. If someone consistently disregards your needs and feelings, it may be time to re-evaluate your relationship. Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, it likely is. Set boundaries and prioritise your own wellbeing.

Surround yourself with the 'right people'

It is important not to allow others to manipulate or control you, It is important to stand up for yourself. Surround yourself with people who appreciate and value you for who you are, with people who are kind.

Improve your self-esteem

Practice self-care. Improving your self-esteem means you won't let others treat you unkindly. Be patient with yourself and celebrate even the smallest of victories. Surround yourself with positive influences, and engage in activities that make you feel good about yourself. Remind yourself that you are deserving of love, respect and happiness.

In 2024 we need to do more. The world can only thrive on being kind.
