In addition to writing for The CP Diary, her work has appeared in healthy lifestyle magazines. Ilana is also the author of three books: Cerebral Palsy: A Story – Finding the Calm After the Storm, Spirituality, Healing and Me, and Survival: The Covid Years – Time for Change.

  1. My mother has told me this all my life and even though I'm doing better at not dwelling on the past, I still dwell a little and I have also learned from it.

    Learned what to do and what not to do... and that it's never too late to do something helpful for yourself like exercise and eat right.

    1. Lisa there will be some part of our past, that we may find more difficult to move on from, but the key as you've said, is to try not to dwell on what's been.

      We need to concentrate on what we know we can change, so that we don't continue to make the same mistakes.

  2. What a good quote. The past should serve us only to show how we can change and improve things.

    I know people who live in the past and they are the most negative and depressing people who do themselves and others around them no good at all.

    1. I totally agree with you. Living in the past serves no purpose apart from making those around us depressed and negative. "Very toxic."
