"There’s a dissonance between what I understand about my twin in spirit and the emotional weight of a life without her. The gap between my awareness of our connection and the absence of her physical presence is deeply unsettling. This desire amplifies my sense of loneliness, which in turn erodes my motivation and makes it harder to engage with the routines and demands of daily life.
Adding to this emotional burden, are my sensory sensitivities and the persistent drone of tinnitus, which act as constant barriers to me finding peace and momentary respite. Through both, the world is overwhelming – noisy, overstimulating, and unyielding – leaving me feeling disconnected not only from others, but also from myself.
I’m caught in a cycle: the loneliness drains my energy, the sensory challenges amplify my stress, and the stress feeds back into the loneliness. Each day feels like a balancing act, where I’m struggling to find moments of calm or purpose amongst the chaos.
Despite this, there’s a part of me that holds on to hope – an inner belief that connection, whether spiritual or earthly, can guide me toward healing. I long for a way to bridge the gap between what I feel I’ve lost and the life I’m trying to navigate. Seeking moments of stillness and peace, finding ways to process my inner world, and learning to foster the connections I currently have around my struggles, I hope to edge forward – to slowly begin to rebuild a sense of meaning and connection.
For now, still dealing with grief, it’s about accepting these feelings without letting them take over – recognising the pain, while looking for moments of light. Even though the way forward isn’t clear, I trust the connection within me and the strength I try to muster, can lead me to balance and renewal."
