Ever since I was a child, I have always had family take control. The nature of families is such that they may begin to overstep the mark and boundaries and that is when meddling can happen.

But for anyone who isn't taking their queue from the other person, and they're not listening, it means they can be seen as meddling. It's okay to want to help someone with their life, or their circumstances, but if the vibes from the other person, aren't indicating they want that help, then it is important to take a step back.

It’s fine if the other person is looking or asking for advice, but not fine if that person doesn't want advice, because it can be seen as interfering or meddling. It is important to take another person's lead.

  1. Yeah, sometimes you feel like you're trying to help, but you're actually meddling.

I think we all have experienced it before; all we can do is step back and learn from our mistakes.

  2. I think some people meddle without realising they are and others enjoy it.

Either way it's harmful at its least and destructive at its worst. I know it is easier said than done, but the recipient should be able to confront the perpetrator, to try to reach a position they are happy with.

    1. You are right, but in reality they never do. It's a character trait they use to get through life.

As with all of my beliefs, I believe this one can be changed too. We just have to want to change. That has to be the starting point.
