Something inspirational:

"All my life I had been looking for something and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was.  I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions, which I, and only I, could answer.  It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with:  that I am nobody but myself."

  1. Absolutely brilliant saying. I think we all go through this thought process at some stage in our lives; it just takes some longer than others.

  2. That is beautiful and absolutely true. It takes a long time to find yourself. Actually, I don't think it ever stops, as we keep discovering new things about ourselves.

Luckily, we have a lifetime to do it! How are you?

    1. Thank you for asking Anne, I'm doing fine. I agree with you. Each day as we evolve, we will discover new things about ourselves that we didn't know about the day before.

I believe that is so true when it comes to our resolve. It takes many years for us to really get to know the person behind the persona or be comfortable with who we are.

  3. I'm glad you're well... and I agree with you too.

I think accepting yourself and being comfortable with who you are is extremely hard and can take a long time, but it can be done. I believe it's crucial in finding inner peace.

  4. Yes, that's what it eventually comes down to, I'm just myself and nobody else.

I've spent a lot of years trying to run away from myself, but obviously that's never going to work.

I'm just hoping one day, to at least be comfortable in my own skin!

    1. I think running away from ourselves isn't completely unique. I know one or two other people who have been doing that for years. I hope that one day you will learn how to be happy in your own skin.

I think that some of us will make strides, but we don't always know that we are. It's only when we look back that we can see that we are.
