Today is the publication day of my second book , 'Spirituality, healing and Me', marking both the end of a long personal journey and the beginning of another. Living in the shadows, not knowing I had a disability and struggling through my childhood with a disability, makes what I have achieved bitter/sweet.

Making life better

You can't erase the memories of the life you've lived, but you can make your life better by turning your life around, so that you can begin to understand and benefit from your experiences positively.

Seeking validation

Growing up with not knowing what my mental and emotional struggles were, meant those times were enormously difficult. Although it has taken many years for me to seek validation, I feel I now have validation, through my writing.

I also have spirit validation, mum is with me as I write. As she continues to observe, she is aware of what I have achieved since she passed 15 years ago. She knows she could have done more for me, if she had just taken the time to stop, listen and recognise what I needed.

When understanding comes from others

She also knows more should have been done to bring me understanding, comfort and love with a disability. She sees that now. My father although not in the same heart space currently, is also keen to acknowledge my achievements.

Through my courage, mum is healed. Through my resolution, mum has resolution, soon for my father too. It's comforting knowing neither that neither of my parents are far away.

Mum is happy and knows my writing helps me place my thoughts and feelings, which means they are no longer feel mental struggles. On publication of my second book, I have closure on my earlier experiences. Since my parents passed, we have come through our lives separately, but spiritually together.

Growing up with a disability in the community was difficult, because I was different. Anyone growing up with a disability, may find it hard to find acceptance. Mum struggled this side of life, but I am sure as I can be, those who knew her will now take comfort knowing she is healed.

Publication Day - 'Spirituality, Healing and Me'

Today is Publication Day for ‘Spirituality, Healing and Me,’ and as I look across at the hearth, I can see Cerebral Palsy: A Story ‘Finding the Calm After the Storm’ and ‘Spirituality, Healing and Me,’ staring back at me. I couldn’t be prouder of my parents, for their own healing.

  1. AWESOME and CONGRATULATIONS. I will definitely have to order a few copies of your book. The first book was great and I'm sure that the second one will be just as great.

They have helped me tremendously in dealing with my own issues. It actually dawned on my girlfriend yesterday, that I had a TBI when I was 4 years old, which explains so much about the struggles I had.

Now if I can only get myself in gear and write about my experiences. I'm sure they would not only help myself but so many others too!

    1. Thanks Randy, that's kind. I know you won't be disappointed if you were to buy a few copies also. It would be good for you to get your thoughts out there on your experiences.

I am so pleased Cerebral Palsy: 'A Story' helped you. Whilst I do bring my disability together in the book in the first couple of chapters, it is more than just a book that describes my disability.

I know what it feels like to have what you deal with ignored. No matter the age, or struggles, they never leave until you deal with them.

As Bryan Benson, Spiritual Guide and Psychic Council, Endorser of the book says: 'Finally a book that helps us to understand the process some experience during healing and growing. Inspirational and beautiful.”

Throughout my own struggles, I would often turn to unconventional means to try to find comfort and understanding on all my experiences.

I believe what I have written brings understanding and shines the spotlight on 'spirituality' in a way people will understand. In Covid-19 it has never been more important.

  2. Wahay it's publication day. Congratulations on publishing another book. One would be quite an achievement but two, well that's off the scale! You deserve every success.

I hope all your readers get behind you and buy a copy - link above.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I know what my writing does for me. I know how it can help a lot of people.

We're also living in odd or strange unprecedented times and either book would help each of us with our mental health.

I hope my readers will get behind me and buy the book. Both books are a completely different read to the blog and are the accompaniment in Covid-19 times.
