Boy, isn't that the truth. I have almost felt like I was trapped in a time loop, especially in relationships where it may be with different women, but the dynamics were so similar it was scary!
The biggest barrier has been the feeling that I didn't have the right to choose which was true when I was a kid, but now I'm a 49 year old adult and I do actually have the right to choose.
I'm facing choices now that I know won't be very pleasant, but it's either make the right choice for myself or just continue living the same way as I always have, with someone else making the choices for me.
It now makes so much sense as to why people stay in abusive relationships or dead end jobs especially if that's all you have ever known. 'You live what you know.'
Thanks Randy. Yes, we do unless we've had enough and choose to live a different life.
I think you're right on the money when you say, 'it's either make the right choice for myself or just continue living the same way I always have, with someone else making the choices for me.'
If you were to ask yourself the question, you have to ask yourself whether you have already answered your question.
Thanks Tim!! Yes, I think we are hardwired, but we're also capable of change when we need to change. Perhaps we need to get to that point where we literally say enough is enough and start building on a new life for ourselves around change.
When we come to understand and see the bigger picture, we will automatically enable change. Sadly, away from that, we may go on to repeat bad habits.

I agree completely and it goes to show we don't have to continue with what we know, that we can change things.
If we don't change what we need to change, as the quote says we just repeat the same old circumstances.
Thank you, yes we would and yes we can. And without change our lives would simply stagnate.
As if our issues will vanish in smoke. We have to adjust and repair our lives or things will eventually rhyme if not repeat.
But we are hardwired to heal and repair ourselves; the CP Diary has shown us that.

Wow this is really great! I'm trying to change my life for the better, for my girls and myself.
I posted to a blog last week about the struggles in the workforce, which in turn could help in potential harmful relationships and gain independence.
Yes, absolutely Bonnie. The workforce can be renowned for difficult relationships.
You have made the biggest step in recognising the faults in the workplace and the need for change. I agree with you, more needs to be done about this.
