We’re born, we grow and we learn. When it comes to social skills, we learn they aren’t inherent and we have to care. We don’t just know what it means for us to have social skills, but as we grow up, it’s something we all have to practice.

Social skills

Social skills are the skills we use to communicate, the skills we use to interact with each other, verbally and non-verbally through body language, gestures and through personal appearance. They are important if we are to succeed.

Verbal language

Verbal language and the way we use it will go a long way in life. Tone of voice, the subtle messages we use, volume of speech and the words we choose will either influence others positively or will get us into deep water.

Developing social skills

Developing social skills is about being aware of how we communicate with others, the messages we convey and how well we communicate those. Given the current climate with the pandemic, it is important we find ways to improve the way we communicate with each other.

Well-honed social skills

Identifying well with people leads to more positive social outcomes. Well-honed social skills lead to increased happiness and satisfaction that leads to better outlooks and outcomes.

The more we care, the more positive we are and the better our social skills, and the better outcomes we can have. The right social skills can contribute to a more peaceful existence. Without the right social skills, we can struggle at life.

When Understanding Doesn't Bring Closure

  1. Learning good social skills benefits all of our relationships throughout our lives. As you have proved through your experiences and through your blog, all skills should be acquired, but particularly when we are young.

It is never too late to learn to focus on our communication in relationships and the positive benefits understanding and communication brings.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I couldn't agree more. I believe we can all change, we have to want to. Part of us would like to change, but the other part doesn't want to have to work at change.

But however we get to change, it is fundamentally our social skills that need looking at and changing. All interaction is important; our social skills and how we communicate will always be part of that.
