I never tire of writing about, or wanting to learn more about spirituality, because it has brought a certain calm to my life.

Spirituality has given me the power to choose how I see and create my own realities. It has shown me that life reflects what I put out into the world. When others think the same way, it's like meeting someone for the first time and realising how much we have in common.

The universe and the bigger picture

When we begin to take an interest in the universe, we begin to understand the bigger picture, how spirituality ties us to the universe and to each other and where our lives fit in. When we want to know how it all works, asking questions like, ‘what is my purpose?’ and ‘where did we come from?’ we know we’re beginning to understand the spiritual concept, and what it means to be ‘spiritual’.

Respectful qualities

When you begin to show qualities such as respect, tolerance, and understanding for others, you know you're on the spiritual path. Spirituality brings meaning to our lives, and how to get the best out of what we have. It is open to everyone.

  1. It is great that something you love, gives you strength in your own life. Whether that be spirituality or something else.

Being spiritual obviously makes you (the blogger not the royal you) feel better equipped to deal with life and anything that does is such a positive force.

    1. Thanks Stuart. Yes, you're right. My blogs, coupled with my beliefs have been great in helping me cope with my cerebral palsy and issues centred around my disability.

I hope to be able to bring more of what I deal with together, as I learn more about myself.

  2. I really don't know where to start to respond to your blog. I don't see myself as spiritual, but a christian.

All that you have mentioned we believe goes along with christianity; love, patience kindness, compassion, tolerance, forgiveness. I've been taught are the fruits of the spirit, so I guess that's where the spirituality comes in.

I have questions that I know I'll find the answer to when I die and go live with God and Jesus for ever. That is my belief.

    1. Thanks Lisa. Yes, the values you have described are ones that I subscribe to very well.

Core values such as empathy and compassion must be instilled in us from an early age by our parents, then as we grow those values must be backed up by religious teachings.

It is those values that shape us into the adults we become. I am sure your now beliefs help you in difficult times. Our belief system is a very important component of that.

  3. Spirituality is always a good thing, since there does seem to be some force in the universe that keeps everything together.

I've been through a lot in my life and I know I wouldn't be here unless there were some reason for me to be here. I've had to really work on my belief, since I grew up never really believing in anything.

I am just trying to maintain my belief that things can get better for me in my life.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, there are forces you and I aren't aware of, but they're there. They will often guide us, sometimes they will let us know that what we're doing isn't right.

But it is not for us to question, it is for us to get on with our lives.
