Taking small steps is important if you are going to change the way you see life, if your lives are going to change. Growing up and not knowing about my disability, it would go on to take me 46 years to take that small step.

I wanted to take that first step early on, but my circumstances would have to have been different. At the time, what we want is not always an option.

Thinking about your first steps

But just thinking about what those first steps are, opens your mind to future possibilities of what you can achieve. Dreams, visions, and goals are all achieved through taking those small, first steps. None of your theories, or plans can work, unless you are prepared to take action.

What sets you apart is your ability to get past the difficulties to eventually get the job done; taking those first small steps. Just be careful not to overthink the starting point, or you'll fail to explore and to take your vision further.

My own accomplishments

The key to my own accomplishments was initially getting a diagnosis. I didn't know whether I could write, or whether starting my website would work, but for me it would help me turn the corner on a disability I didn't know I had. Each of us have a right to know what we deal with.

Whilst a website seemed a good idea, my vision would come later. I had no idea what form it would take. Taking those first small steps was the catalyst for a change for me, through my writing; now an opportunity for you.

  1. Your small steps led to an 'earthquake' you have shown what could be achieved by taking that decision to change where you were.

In order to do anything, you have to start at the beginning and taking that first step; it is the most important and sometimes the most difficult, but every journey we take starts with that single step.

    1. Thanks. Yes, I could never have foreseen, but since you've said it, yes they probably weren't small, when you look at what I have managed to achieve.

I believe spirit acts in mysterious ways and knows us more than we know ourselves. I could never have imagined or thought this would be my life. I go back to hope, because that never left me. It's what carried me through, it was the catalyst for what lay ahead.

No matter the life, I believe that if you live with hope in your heart, life can change, but you have to be proactive.
