I managed to get to the grocery store today, which literally was the highlight of my week and feeling a little peckish, I opened a bag of crisps to find the pack not even a quarter full.
Brexit
This takes Brexit to a whole new level. You get nothing for your money and you’re paying premium prices. What irritates me is the fact that I seldom go out because I am high risk and vulnerable in Covid-19, which hasn’t gone and like every-one else, when I go to the shops I am faced with the rapidly rising cost of living, with half empty shelves, and with prices that are noticeably and inevitably going up.
Cost-of-living-Crisis
Coming home with very little and nothing we could make a meal with, like everyone else, I am now also facing a cost-of-living crisis. In the UK, the Conservative government's introduction of 19th century philosophies based on free trade and deregulation following on from the ideological pursuit of Brexit, lines the pockets of the richest at the expense of the poorest in society. What is happening in government is seeping into all areas of your life.
The CP Diary blog
Where my blog may not be popular because my blog is difficult to stomach, I find it difficult also, it's one of my anxiety struggles; but I would rather seek the truth and not live in denial, because I/we will end up playing catch up, asking for others to work with truth, on what we get to deal with.
It's time to put positive markers down, markers that can collectively change lives, but we need to work together. It can't happen without. Where it's clear our lives are now poorer and mental health is being compromised, it is important to speak your truth.
