Yes, so very true. You never know what you'll be getting when you wish for something. You wish for a relationship and you get one, although she happens to be kind of batshit crazy.
You wish for a car and when you get one, it's really just a rust-bucket ready to fall apart, when you need it the most. You wish for a job and the only one you can seem to get is the kind that nobody else wants to do.
This has pretty much been the story of my life, so I have tried to be a lot more careful when there is something I happen to be wishing for. I remember watching the original TV series and wishing that there was somebody like that who would be willing to fight for justice, when no one else would.
There doesn't seem to be enough justice for people in the world right now for those who most deserve it.
Thanks Randy. Happy New Year. Your last paragraph sums up your response nicely Randy and I agree.
We tend to wish for the things we want or think we want at the time. The problem is we don't always weight up the pros and cons before we make a wish and only realise after when we think we've made a mistake.
Perhaps as Brad says, we should be careful for what we wish, but away from that we must work out first the details of what we wish for.
Thanks Tim. Yes, we tend to wish blindly for things in the hope we can remove ourselves from where we are, only to find we're not whee we really wan to be when our wish has been granted.
I know one or two people who have done exactly that. We struggle and then come to struggle again, when the things we wish for to remove us from one scenario, don't work out in another.
wow, I only wish more people understood this and stopped playing the victim in decisions and choices they make!! I love this quote, thank you for sharing.

Thank you. Yes, when we wish for something, we will also have to deal with the effects, consequences and aftermath of that particular wish.
I absolutely loved the film and the quote and agree this exactly why we need to be careful what we wish for.

We often wish for things, then we become aware of the buzzing of flies; and things get worse, much worse.

There's nothing more that I need to add. Thanks Bonnie.
