Choices can and do have a profound impact on our life. Even seemingly small decisions can lead to significant outcomes or changes in direction.

As a child I had very little in the way of choices, but while I wasn't in a position to make my own choices, I did spend my formative years observing my parents choices and the choices that were made for me.

Choices change our trajectory

As the adult, every choice we make has the potential to alter the trajectory of our lives. My own trajectory began to change when at the age of 46, I found out about cerebral palsy for the first time and I started to write.

Recognising our choices can be empowering

Recognising the power of our choices can be both empowering and daunting. It is important to be mindful around your decision making, because even seemingly insignificant choices can have far-reaching consequences.

Using mindfulness as a tool

Without mindfulness, while we may not always predict or control the outcomes of our choices, but we should always strive to make decisions that align with our values, goals and aspirations, understanding that each choice, no matter how small, will shape the narrative of our lives.
