Having finally connected mentally with the coronavirus, I am now struggling to get my head around the fact that our planet is sick and that the human species caused it.

Easing of 'Lock Down'

The UK government is now planning on easing the lock down which could inevitably pave the way for a second wave of the virus. With no clarification on how the virus mutates and works from scientists, it's too early to ease lock down. Dealing with autism makes the whole coronavirus thing impossible for me. It's causing me to be more anxious.

It is Important to Understand

It is important to do more to understand and think about the way we live our lives, why we fundamentally have the coronavirus and what that means. On the back of the government's decisions on the ease-up we must decide for ourselves if it is safe for us to start living our new normal lives away from our homes.

Working with the Natural World

Also, moving forward we need to work with the natural world because that is a huge part of our environment. The natural world made up of plants, trees, animals and other things existing, not made or caused by people. It’s all around us – the sun, the light, the heat; the air we breathe and the water we drink.

Supporting the 'Natural World'

Everything comes from the natural world. It is vital to come through the other end with an altogether different thinking on how we support ourselves and the natural world. I go back to the fact that we all occupy the same ecosystem. We ARE the natural world's support system.

  1. The pandemic is a tragedy which the poor will suffer from, more than the rich, but maybe it is the wake up call that we need to shock us out of our dumb complacency. We should have cared more and prepared better.

The brakes have been firmly slammed on and at the very least, it might just wake us out of our stupor.

  2. People act like the Coronavirus is a surprise but history is full of times like this when there is a plague, because of the way people are living.

I'm pretty sure the bubonic plague was caused by people killing off cats because they thought they were evil, which allowed the rats to thrive that carried the disease.

The biggest issue that I have seen so far is that even though most people are doing the right thing, there are those who aren't taking it seriously who refuse to wear a mask in the grocery store, even though it's mandatory right now.

It pretty much defeats the purpose of 99 people doing the right thing and that one person chooses not to, which dooms us all in the end.

I find it to be so highly annoying and insulting when people do this, but nobody really stops them from doing it.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, the realities are quite scary, so many deaths, little understanding and people flouting the rules imposed on them.

Scary, because it's not like you can see the virus or that we understand how it works. In the UK they are just about to ease lock down. Until the scientists come forward I am choosing to stay put.

I think we need to think more about our lives and the natural world and how we can make a difference moving forward. In the meantime governments and countries must do more to work together.
