I am not sure how old I was, when I began to understand the universe and its laws. Whether we believe in the universal laws or not, their laws are there to bring us back into line. It’s like a thread. It weaves its magic and works with us, whether we’re aware of it or not. It listens, it hears, it acts.

When we convince ourselves we can’t do something, the universe will conspire to make that happen, in the same way that when we tell ourselves we can do something, the universe will also conspire to make that happen.

It is not something we can change. When we begin to understand how the universe works and apply the rules into our everyday lives, our lives will begin to change for the better.

  1. I believe this very much, especially when we believe something and it happens, like if we dwell on a certain illness and keep thinking that we have it, it will happen.

If we dwell on something long enough it will happen. It's the universal law in action.

  2. I agree with this statement.

Many people and governments largely ignore the laws of the universe and then wonder why a cause has a certain effect.

I believe the universe has a judicial system that works accordingly when universal laws are broken or obeyed.

  3. I am having a hard time believing all of this "things happen for a reason" etc. Based on my recent experiences there are many things that seem to happen for no good reason and I find it unhelpful to explain why some things happen the way they do, in this passive way.

I am not saying that i don't believe in this at all, I am just saying that for me it does not satisfactorily provide all the answers - too many bad things happen to too many good people.

    1. I understand your sentiments completely. It may seem like bad things happen to good people, and I have heard it said before, but in the bigger picture I don't believe it continues to happen like that, it just seems like it does.

Unfortunately If you already believe that things happen for 'no good reason' you've already closed your mind to the possibilities that perhaps what happened, happened for a reason and that there's a lesson there for us to learn. I believe that given our resolve (and we all have one) when something bad happens, it's usually because we're strong enough to deal with it.

I believe we get to deal with good and bad things in life. It just takes us longer to work through the bad times. Life changes, circumstances will always change. We will always have to deal with both, it's a part of life.

  4. I'm pretty sure that I learned about them when I was 3 years old and almost died from pneumonia!

I was very surprised when I woke up in the hospital and came to believe that I was meant to be here. It's the only explanation considering I actually would have rather not come back to the world I was living in at the time.

I've spent a lot of years not really knowing what my purpose for being here was, but once I became a parent, I knew deep down it wouldn't be right for me to take my own life.

I'm just trying to make the best of it now and hoping someday it will all make sense!

    1. I agree with you Randy. You were supposed to recover and you were supposed to be here. These thoughts are my thoughts too.

If you continue to believe things happen for a reason, I am sure things will begin to make sense. As we begin to see the bigger picture things definitely do make sense.
