The saying "we can change the course of our lives" is true. It speaks to our potential. I've had to confront my trauma, to deal with a disability I didn't know I had, and I've had to come out of my own comfort zone to do it.
My blog is my resource tool. One which I've been adding to and working on continually for 15 years. Personal growth is on-going. It's a process, one which needs to continue. It means us having to confront parts of our lives, the icky parts. It also means addressing those comfort zones.
The following can help:
Comfort Zones
We stay in our 'comfort zones'. Why? Because they're familiar and we're not good with change. But the truth is, comfort zones don't help if they're wrong for us. Coming out of our comfort zone is about change and change begins with self-awareness. Through introspection, we can assess, identify and change the patterns that hold us back. Self-awareness is our wake-up call, prompting us to think about our choices and those impacts on our life.
Opportunities for Change
Experiences through introspection and clarity, offer opportunities for change that can prompt a shift in your perspective. Opportunities are important because they serve as catalysts for growth.
Resilience and Adaptability
But any journey of transformation has to involve resilience, because we have to be able to adapt to any challenges and setbacks. Resilience is essential because it helps us to navigate our circumstances with a little more ease.
Change, Courage and Support
Change requires courage and a willingness to step out of your comfort zone. It's normal to fear the unknown, but growth typically lies beyond the apprehension, always with the possibility of being able to live a better – a more fulfilling life.
Change can happen with or without support, but it works better with support. It's not that we can't change things and be successful by ourselves, but a network of support provides encouragement that helps shape confidence. The right support helps to strengthen our resolve, which means we can draw on the wisdom and experiences of those supporting us if we need to.
Conclusion
We all have the opportunity to grow, and to evolve. Introspection helps us to grow and evolve, to ensure we remain aligned with our core values and beliefs. Through my own personal circumstances, it is what I continue to do.
