As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of two significant milestones in my life. In January 2019, my first book, "Cerebral Palsy: A Story Finding the Calm After the Storm," was published. By 2022, I celebrated the release of my third book, "Survival: The Covid Years." These achievements hold great significance for me, as they represent important accomplishments in my life. Also, The CP Diary.
Childhood milestones
Growing up with cerebral palsy, I missed out on all my childhood milestones. Initially diagnosed at the age of two, I didn't know about my condition until much later.
My writing
On a very late diagnosis at the age of 46, my writing became a vital outlet for me. Through my website, The CP Diary, which I started in May 2010, I started to share my experiences and insights to raise awareness about disability and mental health. My writing has been a therapeutic process, allowing me to make sense of my journey.
My first book, "Cerebral Palsy: A Story Finding the Calm After the Storm," is a personal reflection on my early years and the challenges I faced. Writing about my experiences has been cathartic and has helped me to process my emotions.
My second book, "Spirituality, Healing and Me," is a testament to my healing journey, while my third book "Survival: The Covid Years" demonstrates my resilience and adaptability during a difficult time.
Final word
Always believe in yourself, never give up, because things can always get better.
