Dedicated to all those who live with distance in their lives.
Sometimes the biggest moments happen in silence – the things we don’t say, the looks we miss. That’s usually when we start to understand how fragile human connection really is.
There are times when you find yourself on the edge of someone else’s awareness, unsure whether you’ve truly been seen or simply passed by. It's not always out of malice – Often people are distracted, and not everyone knows how to hold space for others.
Sometimes it’s only a subtle shift in energy, a conversation ending before it has the chance to begin. Other times, it’s unmistakable. Either way, you notice because you care.
But what if silence is a redirection. A quiet return to yourself – to the people who see you, and to the parts of you that have been waiting to be heard.
Not every absence arrives dramatically. Sometimes it’s just the slow understanding that you’ve been reaching towards people who stopped reaching back.
There’s something powerful about recognising when life is asking you to step back – not to disappear, but to realign your allegiances. To place your energy where it’s welcomed and also where that energy is genuinely returned.
So if you ever feel unseen, remember: not all distance is bad. Sometimes it’s simply space being made: for clarity, for healing.
And in that space, you grow.
