The CP Diary, created by author and writer Ilana Estelle, is a fifteen-year journey of self-discovery, disability awareness, and emotional honesty.
What began as something deeply personal has grown into a trusted space for people living with anxiety, trauma, invisible mental health challenges, cerebral palsy, and late-diagnosed autism.
For much of her life, the author believed she was simply “different” – clumsy, anxious, and in school out of step with her contemporaries. Only later did she learn she had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child, and later still that she is autistic.
These discoveries have slowly reshaped her understanding of herself and gave rise to her writing.
Through The CP Diary, the author shares her reflections on emotional health, mental health, sensory overload, and self-acceptance. Her work is gentle, thoughtful, and deeply human.
She writes with honesty, without bitterness, and with vulnerability that never feels performative.
Her words do not instruct – they accompany.
As she writes:
The CP Diary is more than a blog. It is a quiet sanctuary where lived experience is honoured and healing is allowed to happen slowly.
In a loud world, it listens.
In a fast world, it understands.
In a demanding world, it honours softness.
Fifteen years on, Ilana’s voice remains steady, defiant, and profoundly kind.
