I write and live my life from a moral standpoint. I always have. Everything I write is assessed and well-thought out. Following the universal ‘rules of the road’ I breathe and live with morality. It’s what makes the world successful. Given the current state of the world, we have a long way to go on morality.
Morality
When I look back at my own life, what I had to deal with around a disability I didn’t know I had, morality didn't form part of that scenario. As a child and a young adult, I didn’t think about morality around whatever was wrong with me. I don't think you do, you assume your family have your back and you don't stop to question.
The moral way
It's not moral to ignore something that needs to be addressed. It also isn't moral to ignore anyone that needs the mental and emotional support. On our part, it’s not something we can get back or change, but it is something we would need to place.
A life away from morality
I never preach about morality, primarily because it’s not something others would listen to unless they also took the moral approach. But a life without morality is immensely difficult. A life away from morality lacks empathy, compassion, tolerance, understanding and patience. It also invites in uncertainty, hidden agendas, secrecy deceit, aggression and anger.
A life without morality
But morality matters, it's important. It is vital for us to be able to function well and successfully. Imagine roads without traffic lights, it would be chaos, not to mention dangerous. A life without morality, without ethics, is a shortcut to illness, to chaos and in some cases early death.
It is impossible to live a life successfully without it.
You have made tears appear in everyone who is truly concerned about the state of morality in our society.
I'm so glad you're worried, because we are too.
Thanks Tim. Yes, I am worried because people don't seem to care, which we are seeing played out (with a few exceptions) and that can be the difference between lowered mental health, life and death.
Morality is something we all have within us, but it's not something we will all use. It is linked to mental health. The more on top of our mental health we are, the more moral we will be.
Morality is also based on universal principles. The more moral we are, the more life works out for us.
