As a small child, I didn’t get the bigger picture of what was my life. I was lost in my thoughts, but I did come to understand my journey later, well into my thirties.

Spectrum of 'life'

When things happen, we may forget to think or ignore where we are in the spectrum of life, why what happened has happened, we may forget to look at the bigger picture Do we stop to question the meaning, or what life is about, or why what happens to us happens? I questioned a lot more than I ignored as a child, but I still didn't get my life.

Spirituality is the closest belief system I know to being able to answer some of these questions. We are all connected to one another and with everything in the universe, so everything we do to others, we do to ourselves. Everything is or has consciousness, even inanimate objects. What differs is the level of consciousness.

Our 'higher selves'

We are not simply our physical bodies, but we also have a spirit, which is part of our“higher self.” We are spirits having a material experience in a physical body and when we die, we leave our physical body and move to a ‘higher dimension.’

Be kind and caring

No matter what you believe, what is important is that you are kind, caring, that you have empathy, patience and tolerance, and to help those who struggle more than you do.

When we fail to see the ‘whys’ of life, we will fail to question our existence and will fail to understand the purpose of ‘life.’ We may also fail to get the best out of life and to live our lives successfully.
