Something inspirational:
"Good writing is remembering detail. Most people want to forget. Don’t forget things that were painful or embarrassing or silly. Turn them into a story that tells the truth."
PAULA DANZIGER
"This quote captures what writing for The CP Diary has always been about – the detail. I set out to bring together what I later learned was a disability and for the first time – to work things out and to place – to tell the truth, even when that truth was hard to hear. I grew up not knowing for years trying to make sense of my life, while I struggled to fit in. Writing helped me to understand the questions no one answered, the awkward moments, the things that I thought were small – but know differently now. I’ve learned that good writing isn’t about dressing up your life – it’s about peeling it back, showing the pieces that are difficult to talk about – for others to hear – also the pieces and parts that don’t easily fit, and letting those pieces speak. Because that’s where the truth lives. And that’s where my story begins and continues. There's a lesson and message in there for us all."
