Yes, that would be great. Right now I don't know who I am, what I am, or what the purpose of my life is. I'm having to make the hard choice to break out on my own, to be able to work on having my own life, as I have always lived for other people.
I was well trained in the art of people pleasing. My mother brainwashed me into thinking that was my purpose, when I knew it wasn't, but couldn't seem to do anything about changing it.
People love to say things like, 'just get out' but how do you really do that when your spirit is broken and your soul nearly destroyed? I hope and pray that I can have some sense of my place in the universe, sooner rather than later.
Thanks Randy. Yes, I too was a people pleaser until I realised that's what I had been and stopped it in my early thirties.
But you can be a people pleaser, as long as you remember to please yourself too. I believe you have the tools to change, but need the courage to follow any changes you make through.
Sometimes what we've been through can be the very catalyst of our purpose. There are many people out there who have gone through what you've gone through, particularly with addiction.
You helping others through addiction is something you would be particularly good at.
Thanks Tim. You're absolutely right, I agree. Lovely... good for you.
As you suggest, through our spiritual connections, the soul is open to us all. I also believe our purpose, is for the soul to renew itself in ways that benefit others, whether we have something specific to channel our energy into.
The tragedy is that many of us fail to work from the soul 'for the greater good' of others. We must do it. How different the world would look if we channeled our souls into helping other people, instead of being self-centric.

I personally believe that my existence is an assignment to use my soul for the greater good, which is purpose enough.
I guess the Universe needed somebody who cared.

I have no idea what my purpose is (do any of us REALLY know) so I guess I can't shuffle off until I do.
Yes, sometimes we fall into something, sometimes we know and sometimes we have no ideas.
Sadly, I wasn't brought up to aspire to anything so consequently never thought about what my calling might when I grew up.
I remember wanting to know what was wrong with me and that stayed with me for as long as I can remember.
My calling with The CP Diary came when my mother became terminally ill, and something she said brought me down this path.
