Food for thought: “The world is round, and the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.” IVY BAKER PRIEST An ending can feel like a loss, particularly when we cannot see what lies beyond it ...
Something inspirational: “I’m not going to continue knocking that old door that doesn’t open for me. I’m going to create my own door and walk through that.” AVA DuVERNAY
Food for thought: “He that flings dirt at another dirties himself most.” THOMAS FULLER This is a good reminder that when we speak badly of others or try to bring someone down, it often says more about us than it does about ...
This quote is true. Loose, undisciplined lips has its consequences for everyone involved; especially when what we say is negative and hurtful to people. I try to measure my words carefully because people listen to words and feel the intent.
While people routinely speak volumes with body language, words are conclusive and can be remembered forever.
Thanks Tim. You're absolutely right. We must always be vigilant by what we say and how we say them. It's often not what we say, but how we say them that gets us into trouble.
Thanks Maria. I'm sure we've all been there, done that!
As a child I must have been a nightmare because of all the emotional stuff going on. My emotional and physical issues were never addressed, so the only way to express myself was through anger. I never planned it that way.
That's what we do, until we learn to control and think about things and how what we say will affect other people.
I think it also depends on what we're dealing with at the time. Times are more stressful now than they were with more expectations being placed upon us.
Yes, that's perfectly true. Like "think before you leap". Once you have spoken some words or "leaped" without considering the consequences, you'll have to face them.
So true. Just a look says a hundred things and once we say something we can't take it back, so we live with the consequences of what we say forever.
Thanks Lisa. Yes once we say something to offend we usually can't take it back, so it's always wise to think before we speak!
It's another quote my mother used to throw at us, when we were less than kind or gracious.

This is such a true quote. There is a saying that it is better that people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove it conclusively!
Once things are said there is often no taking them back.
Yes I think it is too. I agree… and it's just not worth the fallout, backlash and ill thoughts people tend to carry on the back of what others say.
We should always be kind and conciliatory towards others.
Uhhhh, was he ever talking about me. When I'm angry I say some hurtful things.
I really need to meditate more and be mindful of my words. I've been really feeling stressed and I've been a little mean to hubby.
We've worked it out, but not before I stepped on my tongue!
Thanks Maria. I'm sure we've all been there, done that!

I'm sure you'll work things out. Take care.

Thanks Hassaan and welcome to the site. Yes, that's absolutely true, we must, but not everyone will accept responsibility for what they say.
How different the world would be if we all took responsibility.
