Whilst the world continues to vaccinate against Covid-19, it is important restrictions stay in place, because whilst the vaccine goes some way to protect, you can still catch Covid, you can still pass it on and you can still get Long-Covid.

Double-jabbed

Being double-jabbed doesn’t mean life is back to normal and it also doesn't mean we should drop our guard. We're told protection can last up to 6 months or longer, (Source: https://www.pfizer.com) but there is no official data for people who are immunocompromised. For them it could mean they are protected for around 4 months.

Being mindful in Covid-19

It is because Covid-19 is here to stay that we need to be mindful about how we go about our lives, whether you have taken the vaccine or not. Whatever happens, it is important for us to remain vigilant. No one is safe and physical barriers like mask wearing and social distancing protects us.

Children, Covid and school

In September, children head back to school. We can't assume children will be safe. Parents are struggling with the fact that their is no mitigation in schools. Head teachers and teaching staff have a mammoth task ahead of them to make sure children in their care, are safe. The same goes for universities that are due back in October.

It is because the UK government have lifted restrictions, it is important to continue to mask up in shops and social distance in public spaces.

  1. Yes, people should continue to mask up, but chances are they won't because it isn't mandatory anymore.

I have concerns about what's going to happen once school starts, as I'm sure even if children were to wear masks, they wouldn't want to wear them all day.

Also, they aren't going to understand how important it is, because like so many others, they aren't going to believe that it's real because they can't see it.

Chances are this is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better! It is important to do what we need to do to stay safe.

    1. Thanks Randy. I agree people should continue to mask up. Yes, it is the physical barriers like masking up, that will keep us safe whilst we're having to navigate our lives around the virus.

It is also important to keep social distancing also. I hope more of us will continue. It's not easy. It is only by us continuing to keep these measures in place that the virus can dissipate.

I hope Governments will rethink these strategies and make these rules mandatory.
