I faced the truth on a disability I didn't know I had – I did something about it. Always the inquisitive child, I wanted and needed to know what was wrong with me and how I presented.

Facing the truth

It became a necessity rather than a choice in my case. By us facing the truth, we’re demonstrating to ourselves and others, we are ready to stop living in denial.

Facing the Truth Becomes Inevitable

Facing the truth becomes inevitable. Taking an inventory as it's called, isn’t easy, but it is necessary, if we are to face our truth, on what we deal with and if we are to emotionally and spiritually grow.

We Eventually Have to Face our Truth

But running from the truth, isn't something you can run from or scoot around, because you will eventually have to face the truth. We must come face to face with our realities. We must dust ourselves down and pick ourselves back up. The truth is the truth however you choose to face it, truth doesn’t stop being the truth the more you ignore it. It doesn’t help us, refusing to accept a verifiable reality.

The Truth Sets you Free

The truth will set you free. It empowers, motivates and can give you confidence. The truth can lead you on a path of enlightenment, on your emotional and spiritual journey.

Without consciously knowing, without facing the truth we shall continue to deal with issues, and whichever way you look at it, you can end up, back at the same place.

  1. Looking after our mental health involves being able to face life in a realistic way. Facing the truth enables us to do what we can do to make our lives the best that they can be.

It takes courage to face the truth in our lives but we are better for it.

  2. Thanks. Yes, when you say, 'it takes courage to face the truth in our lives but we are better for it' - it does, but not many of us will have the courage to face our truth.

I think the more courageous we are, the more we will grow through the experience. I couldn't have done what I have done without courage, it's all part of our own 'spiritual journey.'
