When we are ill we do realize how lucky the people that are well are. It makes us kind of envious of them (it does me anyway). I was well until I was 8 years old so I had a few good years that I really don't remember.
I've learned so much from being ill, like compassion for others and I think I wouldn't have become a nurse had I been well.
When I was diagnosed with diabetes I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and got to be around nurses a lot and that's when I decided to become a nurse.
I don't believe Lisa that we're one hundred percent healthy all of the time but I do agree with you that we can learn so much from being unwell.
The problem we have though and I believe this to be true, is that when we're better we tend to revert to our old habits and forget just what it meant for to us to be ill... well emotionally anyway.
Great post. I agree our health must be the most important thing.
It follows that we can learn much from when we are ill, as it is then that we realise how fortunate we are when we are well.
I know someone who says he doesn't want to be the wealthiest man in the cemetry!
Ditto on your thoughts.
Being healthy would be great!
