I remember my father telling me that he thought my mum had claustrophobia. I know she was dealing with anxiety, because I also deal with it. Around anxiety, my intuition helps channel my thoughts, so that I can live my life with a little more ease.
Although beliefs can play an important part in our lives, certain belief systems may not always help us deal with anxiety. Since the assault two years ago, my life has become very stressful. Anxiety has come in on the back of it.
So what is anxiety? Anxiety is a feeling of fear when we’re faced with difficult situations, sometimes threatening. For me it happens around an issue I can’t seem to bring closure on.
Anxiety is like an Adrenalin rush. It can motivate you enough to help sort your problems. Unfortunately, for me it works the other way. With the assault, as hard as I tried I couldn’t see a way forward. I need to understand why.
I think anxiety gets to all of us at some point in our lives. Others tend to suffer with it all their life.
I have anxiety sometimes but as soon as I know things are going to be alright I'm okay. I've had it all my life really.
I think a lot stems from my stay in the hospital when I was 8 and diagnosed with diabetes. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks.
I don't want to do that again!
I think you're right. Anxiety comes in on the back of an experience we struggle with.
The important part is how we perceive and deal with those anxieties so that we can move forward and quickly. Depending on the anxiety it's easier said than done!
I agree. It's hard to work your way through your anxiety but it can be done.
I'm curious as to what is going to be your next step. Reading about you dealing with these problems is truly inspirational and is already helping me deal even with just small problems in my life.
