  1. Yes, this is what I have been trying to do since I have to accept that the only person I can really change is me. I have spent most of my life trying to take care of others, rather than taking care of myself first.

I was made to feel so guilty for doing so when I was a kid, which carried over into most of my adult life. The reality is that you can't really take care of anyone else if you're not taking care of yourself first. It isn't a matter of being selfish, but just common sense which most people don't have a lot of.

I never had much of a chance to really grow up, so I'm having to do it now at an age where most people are really set in their ways. I know it can be done but it just isn't going to be very easy.

    1. You're absolutely right Randy, we can't look after anyone else if we don't look after ourselves first. I'm not sure how many of us think of that.

We tend to put ourselves out regardless to help others and forget to help ourselves. Perhaps it's us running away from ourselves. I do think attitude has a lot to do with maturity and the way we live our lives.

There is nothing to stop us with the right attitude achieving and making ourselves successful. The right attitude also helps us with emotional and spiritual growth.

  2. Misery and attitudes blend together and both need someone with those particular skills feed into that; it will not be me.

    1. Thanks Tim, yes it won't be me either. Attitudes is what lets most of us down.

The sad reality is that most people don't see their own attitude, but are quick enough to point the finger at someone else's attitude.
